چکیده

We study correlations of hydrodynamic fluctuations in shear flow analytically and also by dissipative particle dynamics (DPD) simulations. The hydrodynamic equations are linearized around the macroscopic velocity field and then solved by a perturbation method in Fourier-transformed space. The autocorrelation functions (ACFs) from the analytical method are comparedwith results obtained fromDPD simulations under the same shear-flow conditions. Up to a moderate shear rate, various ACFs from the two approaches agree with each other well. At large shear rates, discrepancies between the two methods are observed, hence revealing strong additional coupling between different fluctuating variables, which is not considered in the analytical approach. In addition, the results at low and moderate shear rates can serve as benchmarks for developing multiscale algorithms for coupling of heterogeneous solvers, such as a hybrid simulation of molecular dynamics and fluctuating hydrodynamics solver, where thermal fluctuations are indispensable. In coastal areas, hydrodynamic factors make changes in shorelines geomorphology. This can affect coastal facilities and cause hazards to human societies in the areas. This study has investigated the influence of wave and tide properties on Khamir Port, Hormoz Strait in coast of Persian Gulf. The purpose of the study is to make a mathematical regional and local modeling of water level fluctuatio...

Study on Thermal and Hydrodynamic Indexes of a Nanofluid Flow in a Micro Heat Sink

The paper numerically presents laminar forced convection of a nanofluid flowing in a duct at microscale. Results were compared with both analytical and experimental data and observed good concordance with previous studies available in the literature. Influences of Brinkman and Reynolds number on thermal and hydrodynamic indexes have been investigated. For a given nanofluid, no change in efficie...

Electro-magneto-hydrodynamics Flows of Burgers' Fluids in Cylindrical Domains with Time Exponential Memory

This paper investigates the axial unsteady flow of a generalized Burgers’ fluid with fractional constitutive equation in a circular micro-tube, in presence of a time-dependent pressure gradient and an electric field parallel to flow direction and a magnetic field perpendicular on the flow direction. The mathematical model used in this work is based on a time-nonlocal constitutive equation for s...

An Analytical Approach to the Effect of Viscous Dissipation on Shear-Driven Flow between two parallel plates with Constant Heat Flux Boundary Conditions

An investigation has been made to analyze the effects of viscous dissipation on the heat transfer characteristics for both hydro-dynamically and thermally fully developed, laminar shear driven flow between two infinitely long parallel plates, where the upper plate is moving in an axial direction at a constant speed. On the basis of some routine assumptions made in the literature, a close form a...

Investigations on Cold Rolling of Strip in Attendance of Hydrodynamic Lubrication

In this paper an analytical model for cold rolling of strip has been described. This model is developed based on the slab method of analysis and the hydrodynamic lubrication. The characteristics of rolling are obtained from the equations of equilibrium and the plate was allowed to strain harden assuming that the lubricant behaves as a Newtonian fluid. The shear stress to the plate is obtained b...
